Help Needed (Out of Country)
Date: Sat, 03/14/2009 - 23:42
Hi all,
I used to live in the US and got overwhelmed with my card debt. Had an opportunity to leave the country and was one of the few lucky ones who saved enough to pay off my debt. I only have copies of my credit report from 3/4 years ago. I cannot access my credit report now. How do I find out what the original amount of debt was? and how much of it is interest. Does the credit report have the prinicipal + interest or just principal. I didn't have a lot of debt probably something around 4K but the credit report is showing 7K. I am now married and settled with my husband in his home country. We plan on living here for as long as we can, I still want to pay off my debt but hopefully without any interest. Is there a way to do that without going to the US?
Can someone pls guide me on how to go abt doing that? Thanks for all your help

You might try sending them a settlement offer letter.
