i have only 3650 in charge off debt on my credit file. 2 cc accounts and 1 lease account. cc accounts are scheduled to fall off in 1.5 yrs. lease account will hang aroung till 2012. i want to make these accounts appear better on my cf. should i settle, consolidate, try debt management, or someother program? i want to finally get debt free this month..or maybe next month..any help would be great..if this a duplicate post, i appoligize..

Although charge off will not come out of your credit report before seven years and 180 days from the date of your delinquency, I think that you should try to settle the debt for less with your creditors, because even if you pay off the debt in full, your score will not improve. However, before you negotiate with your creditors, you should check whether the Statute of Limitation on the debt has expired or not.
