I missed a court appearance so the court ruled on a default judgment. I filed a motion to set aside default which was granted by the judge on March 21, 2009. This removed the default and the judgment. The Plaintiff placed a lien on my home on 2/17/09. I have a trial date of August 5. Wouldn't the lien have to legally be removed after the judge removed the judgment? It has now been six weeks since he removed the judgement. I just spoke to L.A. County and lien is still in place. If the default judgment is removed from your credit file, the lien should also be removed by the creditor. If they have not done so, you can take legal action against the creditor.
