Does anyone know who this number (818-296-4015) belongs to? I have been getting some nasty mesages on my home and cell phones. It is a heavily accented voice, but the caller does not say where he is calling from. He asks that either me or my attorney call back and wishes me "good luck." I have tried back a few times, but it rings and no one answers. I am kind of nervous and wish I could place the number. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is no need to worry about the call, because if it is a creditor calling you for the debt, he must send you a DV notice within 5 days of initial communication in order to start the process of debt collection. If you find any further calls from this number, you can file a compliant online with the FTC.

Sounds like US National Bank. Indian accents? They are supposed to send a dunning letter w/in 5 days of initial contact but vmx doesn't count. Next time they call, answer, verify you are the person they are seeking, verify your address and tell them they now have 5 days to send you details of the debt in writing. End the call and do not answer if they call again. If they send a dunning letter (and I doubt they will) follw the Debt Validation process.
