i have abotu 75K in debt make about 100K plus with hubby, on my own make 78K. Most of the 75k debt is in my name only.
do credit card companies care about what people make when they settle?
Also boa gave me the names of debt management companies like Nova Debt, take charge america. I am suspicious about calling these companies that BOA recommended. Would you guys be?

Yes and no. Typically it is not so much the salary but your Discretionary income. As you know, even people that make millions of dollars a year get into financial trouble. Typically the creditor does not know what you make and what your expenses are. They can only look at your credit report. These things are not shown on your report.
So while you should not attempt to settle your debts if you have the money to pay them, how much you make is not really an issue if you have a legitimate hardship and can no longer afford the payments.
