Has anyone ever had sucess (especially recently) in getting a creditor to agree to completely delete a negative or settled account of your credit report?

How about any similar reporting adjustments (ie removing lates, etc)?

I've had customers contact me about removing a "settled" account from their credit report. I always tell them if they want to pay the difference (between what we settled for and what they really owed), then I'll remove it.

As far as removing lates... it depends how their attitude was while they were delinquent. If they returned my calls and kept in contact with me, then I usually agree to remove the lates. However if I left a million messages and they never had the courtest to call me back, or if they liked to hang up on me when they did answer the phone, then I'll probably treat them the same way when they want me to do a favor.
