i just went through my credit report and i have some accounts charged of as bad debts.that is because i was out of the country for over a year due to some health issues.anyways now am back fully recovered and i have to take care of all my obligations. i didn't do any payments all this long. that means i don't have to pay off these balances?

You should register for a free consultation and they can give you an idea of how to clear this up  . How long have you not paid on any of your debts  , have you checked the statute of limitations on the debts?

I would suggest that you talk to a debt counselor in regards to your current situation. Other people will be along to give you their input.

Just beacuse they charged off a debt, doesn't mean that you don't still owe on it.

In most cases, they sell the charged off account to a Collection Agency. If you haven't started getting letters or calls, there is a chace that you will.

If you are wanting to take care of these debts, you might give the original creditors a call and see if you can take care of the debt-that is with me assuming you haven't paid in a year.

I did this with a charged off account, and was able to pay it in full, which helped my credit.
Feel free to ask questions..KAren

half of my the things on my credit have been late or ontime but paid in full the other half still remain. Most of it is charged off accounts plus a repo and another auto loan currently in good standing. Im thinking of paying off all the bad stuff on my credit becuase i really want to get a house and refi my car in aabout another year..will paying off all my old charged off debt improve my credit standing? can i consolidate all that debt and pay on it? is it even worth it? or should i wait for it to go away?
