i'm being garnished and was never notified until my boss handed me the papers. i owe the county for supervision fee's while on parole. can my federal tax refund be taken? i live in oregon

If you owe a state/federal/county type debt, you can be garnishe

If you owe a state/federal/county type debt, you can be garnished under administrative garnishment without notice. Actually you were probably notified somewhere along the line as this being a consequence.

I do believe this type of debt can be offset from your taxes.
