WARNING!! If you do a debt settlement program , i hope you have a couple of thousand ready for the settlement. Discover will not wait as most of your cards wont either for 30-36 months. Say you have 30,000 in debt, you better have 13-15000 ready to settle within 12 months because after that, more than likely you will get sued!! I did these debt settlement companies for a few months before i came to my senses!!! If you have anything over 20,000 in debt just file for BK, it was the best decision of my life!! And if you don't want to file the big BK, then make sure you can pull the money from somewhere because it will help you speed the process up considerably.I filed Sept. 1ST and I was finished and discharged Oct 25! I have been through hell and back since June 2008 to this point. And my lawyer told me the debt settlement companies (alot of them) are controlled by the credit card companies themselves! I personally think all these so called debt settlement programs are a BID SCAM!!! They all count on you dropping out of the program or getting sued, which ever comes first. And they get their money off the top and if you're lucky you MAY.... get a small portion of you money back.

Greetings "jmnande" and welcome to the forums,
I almost signed up with a debt settlement company, until I read the fine print.
Then Google led me to this great forum.
I read everything regarding my situation and decided to do it myself.
I did.
No fees, no doubts and no problems.
Some creditors will be easier than others.
You can do it yourself, with a little help from your forum friends.
Good Luck, keep us posted.
