Can I send an arbitration letter? Also what should it look like? I'm not a lawyer?

I would DEFINITELY NOT call a debt settlement company, especially one that trolls the forums for business. Unfortunately, you should consult an attorney to avoid the possibility of a default judgment with added interest, court costs and attorney fees. This is why I took a less than perfect settlement offer with amex. I also avoided the public record, which unfortunately has been created in your instance. Good Luck. You should still be able to settle but it will cost more to do so.

So what does it mean if its public record. And if its a bad thing, does it stay there forever? What about arbitration? Can that push it off?
