I've been referencing this site for 6 months now and settled all my cards on my own except one - Amex! I haven't seen any new settlement posts recently or updates on past settlers. Are CC companies and CA's still settling?

I'm in the same boat.....I've settled everyone...Discover, BOA, Advanta.

However, AMEX has offered 55% but I cannot pay this lump sum. I offered 400 per month and they countered with 1600 per month thru an Attorney...AMEX sued me using Apothaker out of NJ.
I've been told by my attorney that AMEX will still talk to me to settle....I've been calling and been getting goons on the phone...no real progress yet.....My arbitration hearing is first week in Oct. I'll keep you up to date.

Guest23 do you mean you are being sued but your court date isn't until October? Can I ask what you owe them in total? I owe them $30k and have been through 3 CA's and no law suit yet. I think I could come up with 55% in 5-6 months! How did you manage to get an arb date so far out in the future?

amex was one of the easiest for me, we had total of 6 CC (between me and my wife) totaling about $80k all cards went pretty quickly after 60 days to CAs I settled 4 of them for 25% and other 2 for $20% with CAs working on behalf of amex so had no problem still awaiting final confirmation and updates to my credit reports, I was told I'll get confirmation within 45 days after settlement payments and it might take up to 90 days to update my credit report.
45 days will be sometime in 3rd week of May, hope all works well with this
