Genesis Financial Solutions / Portfolio Acquisitions & M

I am really hoping that someone can help me out here. I recently received a credit card "offer" from Genesis Financial Solutions on behalf of Portfolio Acquisitions & Management. Basically, they want me to accept their credit card in trade for PA&M considering a balance on a very old credit card as paid in full (the balance gets transferred from PA&M to this credit card).

Anyhow, I am making an attempt to send out a debt validation letter, but am unable to find ANYTHING on Portfolio Acquisitions & Management. That is the only reference in the credit card "offer", there's nothing else for me to go by. Has anyone else received a similiar "offer"? The original creditor was Compucredit / Aspire.

P.S. Does anyone know how to go about getting the details of when an account was originally charged off and reported? GFS is stating that this account was originally reported in 2005 ... *cough*.
