Chase keeps calling (less than two weeks late now). Calls 5-6 times per day. I have spoken with them, told them I cannot pay right now. They are trying to steer me toward a hardship plan....which I don't want to do.

But if I tell them I don't want a hardship, what will they do next?

I did a balance liquidation with CHase for 2% interest rate. I sent an email to the Executive office and a specialist called me back, from that office...not India! She was great and I did a 60 month program at a much more affordable monthly payment. I did have to close my account though.

Chase.........do I need a letter to acompany my payoff? Back in May I thought I had done the right thing and made a settlement with Chase. I owed several credit cards and got them to reduce their rates. Chase would not so out of 2242.63, I paid 1,111.00 and accepted to fill out a 1099 c for the rest. They did not tell me they would report a settled for less than full balance and give me a credit rating of 09 the worst you can get. Since then I have found out I have an insurance policy I can take a loan against to pay this bill. Chase agreed if I faxed to correspondence a letter asking to restore or update my credit report they would within a mo.from date of receiving my check. Do I need a certan type of letter to negoiate this or is a fax sufficient?
