No Confirmation of Payed Balance

I had to close an account and let another go through the collection process. First Source contacted me with a letter stating the balance of the bank account. I called and they claimed that I must pay the full amount to be taken of the Chex System. I have completed a little over a $900 balance and I still have not recieved a letter of completion by any party or organization. It's the weekend at least 4 months later and I am concearned that I was scammed. I should have kept up with this but have not. What should I do for Monday?
