Can CC companies take money out of my Bank?

I used to pay my CC's on-line, and stored my bank account info on the web site for easy payments, I did delete info but can they try and take back payments ? using old info

if the CC and the bank are the same, they can take money. this happened to me based on a business card with BOA. it also happened to a friend that opened a WAMU biz credit line which was later obtained by WF and he had a WF bank account. they took ever cent from checking and savings for both of us.
it has not yet happened with a mortgage.
