Bank of America account sold

I have an account which was originally a Citibank card. About 5 years back it was sold to Bank of America. My husband and I started a business which ending up failing. We entered into a hardship program with Bank of America because since we had already settled over $25000 with Chase that is all our funds would allow us to do. Fast forward 18 months and I am behind on my account 3 months. Now account has sold to Barclays. I was in the middle of renegotiating the terms with BOA and now I don't know what to do?
