What we want to accomplish is to verify this is a bankruptcy discharged debt. If it is they can either drop it or pay you.

Whether it be the original creditor or third party collection agency, they only have to be notified once. If this debt was included in your BK, then you need to let your attorney know that they are still trying to collect on the debt.
