here ya go!!!
Georgia Statutes of Limitation
Breach of any contract for sale: 4 years, (OCGA 11-2- 725) NOTE: Parties may reduce limitation to not less than one year, but not extend it. A cause of action accrues when the breach occurs, regardless of the aggrieved party's lack of knowledge of the breach.
Contract, including breach of warranty or indemnity: 4 years, (OCGA 11- 22A-506) NOTE: The parties may reduce the period to one year.
Written contract: 6 years from when it becomes due and payable and the six (6) year period runs from the date of last payment. (OCGA 9-3-24)
Open account; implied promise or undertaking: 4 years, (OCGA 9-3-25). NOTE: Payment, unaccompanied by a writing acknowledging the debt, does not stopped the statute. Therefore, the statutory period runs from the date of default, not the date of last payment.
Bonds or other instruments under seal, 20 years, (OCGA 9-3-23) NOTE: No instrument is considered under seal unless it????????s stated in the body of the instrument

i also got a settlement offer from PLAINS COMME 3182 saying i owe 3576.54, now under a new creditor Ascent Card Services to settle for 2145.92. no way i can afford that by 3/20/08.

The settlement offer for merrick bank sounds like a pretty good offer to me. If you paid that one, that would be one less you have to worry about. Also, the Plains comme settlement, maybe you could try to send a counter settlement offer and ask for them to spread it out over a few months. Are you expecting a tax return you could use??
And just to let you know, you are not the only one here that has had debt. Most of us here are in the same boat. I always say: Congrats on taking action on it :D

Have you taken advantage of the free consult on this site. They maybe able to give you some options or at least a place to start.
That said may I ask some questions about your budget:
1. Are you eating your meals out? If you are you could easily shave a ton of money off that.
2. I am not preaching but given that I am an addiction counselor - maybe you could quit smoking and save that money. I know it is hard but it is so much better for your health not to smoke(OK I am sorry, I am preaching and now will stop).
Just some thoughts and agian I am sorry if offended you when I talked about the smoking.
Azian - Do not declare bankruptcy
First, you need to do a budget. Trace every penny you spend for a month. Account for it on paper. If you spend as much as a penny..write it down and classify it. IE Food, Rent, Electricity, Groceries, Dining Out....etc. Then find those areas where you can save. Instead of Dry Cleaning...iron it yourself. Instead of eating out for lunch (dining) take a sack lunch. Next....notify Dad that he will not be getting paid back anytime soon. Tell him your plan to become debt free, that you are on a budget and will get to him as soon as possible. You never said what your income is so I have no way of knowing what you are able to afford a month or what state each of the debts are in. Go to dave ramsey dot com and get one of his books called The Total Money Makeover. Trust me, his methods work if you follow them and really want to be debt free. No, I dont work for dave, not affiliated with Dave, get nothing from Dave. I followed his plan, paid off $14,000.00 worth of debt, have saved $10,000 towards retirement and am debt free. And I did it all in less than a year. Not too mention I paid cash of $3,500.00 to start my first semester of grad school. You can do it too....if you declare bankruptcy now...you will screw yourself for 10 years or more. Trust me. You can come out of this...yes you will feel a little bruised and battered, yes you will have to forgo the Starbucks Double Caramel Cafe Latte or whatever they sell, but it can be done. You just have to want to do it and learn to live within your own means.

You might try earning money before you spend it. If I were you I would have two jobs and pay cash for stuff. You don't need cigarettes, dinners, pack a lunch, cook at home or eat sandwiches. Morallity has no SOL. You need to spend less than you earn, it takes sacrifice, sacrifice means not having everything you want when you want it. You may think I'm being mean, but one day you will understand, I hope it won't be too late.
