After being contacted by this group claiming that I owe BMG music, I read many of these comments and came up with a list of questions to ask the Takhar Group. Here is a list of what you should ask them :
For what CD's do I owe?
Whats the number to BMG?
When is this debt due by?
What information of mine do you have?
Where can I send my debt validation form to?
Here are some of the answers they gave me.
They told me what CD I owe for.
They said BMG does not have a phone number and can only be contacted through the mail.
They only said that they have my name, address (which is not my current address and is a very old one), and phone number.
They also told me that I do not send my debt validation form to them, but instead to BMG. I found this odd since they are the ones who are supposedly collecting the debt.
I called BMG (yes they do have a phone number Takhar Group) and asked if this company collects their old debts, to which they replied they have not heard of this group. They also told me that there is no way that I owe them a debt because they do not sell things. Which I didn't know, but was reassuring to hear.
The people at Takhar Group were extremely rude, and they did not have accents.
I'm pretty sure this a rip off, there information is inaccurate and they will not even send you any thing in the mail, they claim they only have to send one letter and that they already have.
Here is why I am not sure if it is real. When I was a teen I did order a CD, the CD that they claim that I owe for, but it was paid for and I'm not sure what company it was that I ordered it from.
I'm not going to pay for this debt since it seems fishy to me. And if I really do owe, then f' it.
Good luck and do your research people, Don't let them scam you.
