Hello,
I reached a tentative settlement today with BOA.
It was a business card (personally secured) ~ 20k debt for 25%.
I told them i would call them back tomorrow to go over the details one more time.
They told me they wont delete this information from my credit report. Is there any way for me to convince them to remove this from my credit report?
It really banged me pretty hard.
let me know! this site has been a great help.

Most likely they will not delete it. But congratulations on the fantastiac settlement!! If it hasn't charged off yet, the impact on your credit will be gone in the next couple of years as you build new current good credit. It staying on the credit is worth the savings for most people. Unfortunately we can't erase all of our mistakes.

By law most creditors are required to inform credit bureau of settlement. I know for fact that B of A are adjure to their guidelines like a hawk. That said, you should avoid demanding more request.

Not paying creditors will automatically result in decrease credit points. I am pretty sure you knew this already.

Be thankful with B of A that they've absolve most of your debt.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

Great settlement. I cannot get anywhere with BOA. Settled Chase at 90 days out for 30%. BOA won't budge off 50% for $21000 and won't even talk settlement on the other card for $9300.00. This is all business debt and I can prove it. 150 days out.

Good luck everyone!!!
