Hi there everyone;
I am more than half way through settling over $80K of credit card debt. I have negotiated all of the settlement deals myself, and so far I have been very fortunate with the deals I have made. Here is my dilemma:

In order to be able to settle with BofA, Amex, Chase, and Wells Fargo, I had to accept a hardship program for my Citibank account...to basically buy time to save funds. This account has a $24K balance on it, and currently the hardship program is 12 months of 0% interest, and I pay 1% of the balance each month through automatic withdrawal from my checking account. I WILL have about $12K saved when the hardship program ends next year. Will I be able to settle????? Has ANYONE out there ever settled an account that was in a hardship program for a fair length of time? My fear is that Citibank will not be willing to work with me since they gave me the 0% interest deal for a whole year.

Any thoughts/advice are so appreciated...I am really concerned about this. Thanks!

Hi,

Just curious. How much did you settle for on above accounts? How did you do it and how long have you been delinquent? I am new to all of this.

I wish I could answer you on Citibank but I can't. How did you get them to do that hardship program? I need to try that too.

Thanks!
