Bank of America (bofa) credit card

I owe about $2,500 on a Bank of America credit card. I am a substitute teacher and have falledn behind on the payments, i have been paying less than the minimum which is $70 a month. they say i am 90 days behind but have not offered a settlement. They want to put me on a hardship program but i dont qualify because of my job/income. Has anyone had any experience dealing with them? settlement? ANy other advice?

Shoot for anywhere between 15 - 25 cents on the dollar with them. Remember it's a haggle so don't take the first offer - low ball. Even if it takes an extra 30-60 days. Good luck.

I was able to get 25cents on the dollar on a 16K debt but I had to wait until 1 day before charge off plus I couldn't get better because I went for their 120 day payment program. Cash in hand and more time to negotiate I believe you can get better than what I got. Also, wait til the last few days of the month to try a better deal. Companies are always behind their quotas and want to close out more accounts.
