Bank of America debt

I have gotten several letters from debt collectors re: many credit card debts. I am working to get some of the m paid off. I have not heard from Bank of America yet and am wondering--is it best for me to talk to them personnally to try to get some sort of payment plan? And what do I say. I can't afford very much each month, but would like to start doing something before it goes to collections.

Go ahead and call them up. Ask them about a hardship plan. The very worst they can do is say 'no.' They have worked with people in the past.
If you reach an agreement, get it in writing. BofA is pretty reliable, but it doesn't hurt to make certain you and they are on the same page.
