business closed down due to bp oil

My husbands business closed down due to the bp oil spill in MS. He has outstanding credit card bills due to his advertising and now we are unable to pay on these cards. They call everyday. He has taken on a new job but until he is able to get back on his feet we are unable to send anything at the present. He have considered Bankruptcy but according to your site it is not advisable. Any advice.

If you have no income, have a lot of debt and have no prospect of income in the near future, bankruptcy is likely the best course of action for you.
