Welcome to the Forums!
The debt is well past the Sol period. You are no longer legally liable for the debt. Send them a Cease and Desist letter via certified mail.

Hi T.D.D.,
Can you please tell us the state you live in? The Statute of Limitations or SOL varies from state to state and it is the time limit within which the creditor can sue you for non-payment of dues. But, in most of the states the SOL expires within 10 years. So, in your case too I believe that the debt is well past SOL. So, you can try and dispute this debt off your credit report and send the cease and desist letter to the people calling you for the debt.

Hello,
Sorry to hear that you're experiencing these issues with Brachfeld.
You say that "it has been ten years" but I'm wondering if it's been ten years since you paid the debt, opened the account or something else? This would definitely play a role in the Statute of Limitations. But, since this account is not shown on your credit report, there's a good chance that the SOL has passed, and you're no longer liable for the debt. So now we have the issue of receiving calls from Brachfeld. In order to get these calls to stop it's really very simple. All you need to do is fax them a written request stating that you wish for all further communication to be in written form only. Per the FDCPA, they are forbidden from calling you after they have received this request. Also, if you send them a request to validate the debt, they will be prohibited from engaging in any further collection activity until after the debt has been validated.
Hopefully this information helps. Good luck!
