I have accepted a settlement with my bank on two of my credit cards for about 25% of what i owe. I have just received my settlement letters in the mail. And have until the end of the month to send payment. I would like to know what are some the best ways to send my payment. I know of certified mail but would like to know if there is faster or easier ways to send my payment.
As well as, is it normal that they would report this settlement to the credit bureaus as " charged off/ settled in full" ?

They will probably show as settled in full. You need to make sure that you get a paid in full letter from them after they receive payment. Some collectors are slow about sending them out. I guess they are not to concerned about following up. Did they give any reccomended method of payment? If you have the letters, and are happy, they may have an online payment option. Or you could call them, and have them debit your bank account directly. If they are the original creditor, then they probably already have your banking info. At least this way, you have the bank statement that shows the date the the debit was made.

I'm considering sending unsolicited debt settlement requests to several creditors. If you're willing to share, I'd be curious to know how you were able to get a settlement. Phone Call, letter, attorney? Any help or direction is appreciated.

I called them up and told them my situation and that i would like to settle on the account. But yeah u should look on the do it yourself section of this site and when your informed enough go ahead and try. and wait until your close to charge off. which i guess is around 120 past due. as well as, get everything in writing before you send any money.
