Chances of a Judgement against me by my parents

I have over $150,000.00 in business debt. My mother is a personal gurantor. She(along with my dad) is threatening to file charges against me if I don't find the money to settle debt. I don't have a lump sum of money to pay off this debt, but could make monthly payments if given the opportunity. The stress of discussing it everyday is so overwhelming that I can't hardly function. I am looking for another job to help hurry up and pay it off. I told her I have three children that I need to tend to and I don't need to fight about I just need the opportunity to make it right. I don't know how you can help me but if there is anyway that you can please let me know.

First of all, welcome to the forums. I can imagine the stress you're under. I realize this is a large debt, but I"m really shocked that your parents can't cut you some slack. Have you already asked them about making monthly payments? Maybe if you put it in writing and signed it in front of a notary?

I feel for you as you are going through a very tough situation. I can also understand that your parents too need their money. You have done a commitment to them in the past and they want you to show your responsibility. Money is something that can hurt any relationship. You should try to work out something with your parents now so that your relationship with them remains good. It's good they haven't filed any legal actions against you. Speak to a professional who may be able to work out a written plan with your parents and you stick to it.
