Date: Mon, 07/02/2007 - 11:35
I have been struggling for months with my bills.
I am very frustrated because I do not know what to do to get caught up. I have 1 credit card, general bills, and 1 monyh behind in my car payment.
My debts may add up anywhere from $3000.00/$5000.00
Please help if you can.
Sincerely,
Brenda Cole

First, calculate your total income and necessary expenses for the month. Try to cut all the unnecessary expenses and the items that you don't need at this time. This will help you in saving some more money. Once you know how much you will be able to save each month, propose your payment plan in writing to the creditors and request that you will stick to the plan. Try to explain that you will be able to afford this amount only and later when your financial position improves, you might be able to make larger payments. This should work because the creditors want to get their money back.

As far as the car payment goes, you might check with the fianance company to see if they can defer that one month you are behind. They might require you to pay the interest, but it would help to get you caught up on the payments.
