Capital One - Not offering settlement yet

OK, my debt is 150 days past due with it being charged off around 12/23. I spoke to Capital One who is not offering me a realistic settlement option. Principal balance is $10,000 but about $11,000+ with interest and late fees. They offered about $8200 which is too high. I read one can get 50-65% settlement.
Should I make a final attempt a few days prior to being charged off to see if they can offer a better settlement? Or just wait to charge off and deal with the collection agency?
Chase offered settlement after 90 days. BOA is also my other CC that has not offered a settlement and they are about 120 days late. But I do need to call them.
