I have received an email from Capital one stating to log onto the website for payment solutions. Has anyone else received this? I have one account in good standing but another one that is severely past due now. After numerous phone calls, I am at a loss for what to do with my past due balance. I am so tempted to check out this email, but I am not sure if it is just a phishing scam.

Anyone else get this?

Want to make payments and see if you have special offers without picking up the phone? Now there’s a solution:

Visit this secure site today to schedule payments, check your balance, and review your choices when and where you want—without having to talk to anyone over the phone. You can even see if you qualify for special offers like fee waivers and APR reductions.

I received this email for an account that was approaching charge off. The site is owned by Capital One because I called several different numbers and confirmed this before I would click on the link.

The offers I received were nothing great. (1) Catch the account and receive a credit for $100.00 after 21 days. My minimum payment was $891.00. (2) Six months of 0% on purchase balance if I caught the account up. **Be very careful if you select the 0% interest, as the only balance that I owed under purchases was late fees that have accumulated; the remainder of my balance was under "special transfers" as I had used one of those balance transfer specials to open the account. It did not say anything about 0% for my transfer balance....so I would have actually been getting charged the same rate that I already had. I was only about a week before charge off and they offered NO settlement. Capital One is awful to work with.
