Does anybody have experience with Capitol One and getting on a credit card debt payment program or hardship program? I have gotten all my other cc on plans but Capitol One keeps saying no plans are available at this time, this is for at least 6 months straight. I currently have $20000 debt on this card and a minimum payment of $1700 which i can not come close to paying. I have been paying only $250 of my $550 minimum payment each month. Any help would be great.

Every other lender would try to bluff consumers about their hardship program saying that they are not available. That is the usual MO. Now the only thing that I can recommend is to call and keep asking or negotiate a settlement, although they might not agree to the latter option unless you default.

The problem here is that CapOne might do a charge off and send you into collections but then again, you will have an easier time (relatively) negotiating with them.
