So how do you get out of paying on a repossed car that was sold to someone else, and you can't afford to keep paying the creditor?

The car got sold and you still owe a balance amount. This will become an unsecured debt and you can put it in the consolidation program. You should talk with a debt counselor before the creditor plans any legal actions. The counselor in the program will call your creditor for an easy payment plan and assist in paying off the account.

They just came today & repoed my husbands car. I even helped the guy, who told me he even had his car repoed. The car is omly in his name. The loan comapny guy told me they can put a lien on our house. I am in debt settlement, my husband is not so I don't think I can put it on my account. He is in Germany working.
