I want to look at doing a debt consolidation, however, I have one card which I don't want to include because it is my emergency/son's tuition payment card. Is that possible to do?
Yes,
you can keep that card out of your consolidation. However, make sure you
make the regular payments on the card.
There is no rule that you'll have to include all your existing cards if
you opt for consolidation.
How
much do you owe on that card? Can you afford to handle that card
yourself? If you owe a huge amount on that card, then it's better to
include it in the consolidation program. As far as your emergency
expenses are concerned, you can take care of them with an emergency
fund. Debt consolidation will help you save money every month. Use that
money to build your emergency fund.
There is no rule that you'll have to include all your existing cards if you opt for consolidation.
