How long before a cc company sues?

How long does it typically take for a cc company to sue you after you have stopped paying? I am married and between my husband and I, we have $60,000 worth of cc debt. My husband works but I do not. I have worked out payment plans with my husband's cards but can not afford to make payment arrangements on my cards. I am seeing a lawyer on Tuesday to look into BR. What happens if I do nothing ,what are the chances of them suing me? Since I do not work could they sue my husband? I live in a community state if anyone has experience with this, that would be great. I have cards with Citi, US bank, &Capital one.
