Hi, we are looking to about enroll in the settlement program with Care One, because we no longer can keep up with all the payments and survive with the affects from the market and economy on income right now. We tried to do a refi on our house but again because of the market and all, it would not go through, we tried several times.

We also have been in the process of wanting to re-buy another house to get back where our doctors are and sell this one, we have health disabilities. So we have been trying to gather info on how will we be able to get another home loan with a settlement through Care One?

There will still be creditors that will not be included in the settlement, and we will be paying on time every month, such as all the secured debts we have are not included.
Won't the creditors that remain intact on our credit profile, such as these ones not being a part of the settlement program, won't this help offset the negative from the settlement on our credit profile because they will be reporting on time regular payments?

We contacted their attorneys and the one that does the settlements for Care One will be calling us on Monday to talk with us. What we are trying to understand before we enroll is during the time we are waiting for the attorney to settle with the creditors, which we are told can take 3 to 12 months depending on the cooperation of the creditors, are the creditors then during this time not going to be able to file a judgment, sue etc. because we are with an attorney?
We have read it both ways, which is right?
If anyone is already going through Care One with the settlement program it would be very helpful to hear your experiences.
We have been so overwhelmed.
Thank you so much for any help!

Don't do it. They take the money for the attorneys first, so out of the almost $700 I paid monthly, only $7.00 was put in my "escrow" acct. The attorneys are rude, unknowledgeable, and Care One's customer service is very poor. And don't let the idea that there are attorneys working for this company that you are protected-you are not. They do not represent you in any way. I ended up settling some accounts on my own, but I have since severed ties with Care One. They kept about $3000 of money I paid to their attorneys, and said I would not be refunded-even though I will not be getting any type of service for that $3000. I am still getting calls from bill collectors, and that $3000 would have helped. I will be pursuing this further.

Do not take their help, they are all scams. First they talk nicely and make you enroll in their program and then later make you pay a lot of money as their fees. I am ruined by enrolling with CuraDebt. I could have saved the money that I pay them as fees and settled my debt.
