Brothers debt on my account

I put my brother as an authorized user on my credit card account. Needless to say this was a big mistake. He's accumulated a few grand worth of debt in my name. He's been trying to find ways to get this debt out of my name i.e. getting his own CC so he can transfer balance, taking out a private loan to pay off the balance on my card.

Are there any other options he has or I have for that matter to get this debt out of my name? He recently applied with a debt consolidater, they approved, then backed out because they said he wasn't the primary card holder. Is there any way around this?
