Hey everyone I have lurked around for a long time here and wanted to see if you guys have any advice for me. I have a CC with Capitol One 550$, Plains Commerce Bank AKA Total Card 469$, and HSBC650$. Has anyone settled with any of these companies or have any advice. I can't afford my payments with the crazy interest they have on my account. I can't afford nursing school and these wild rates. Any advice appriciated.

Your debt doesn't sound too bad yet, a debt consolidation loan sounds like a pretty good idea, being that you're dealing with less than $2,000. Or maybe keep your eyes open to transfer those balances to another card with a promotional 0% or very low APR and really concentrate on paying them off before the promo period runs out. I have done that successfully in the past, just don't be late with even 1 payment by even 1 day, or your apr will go right back up again. Will only work if you can afford those payments for sure. Better to nip those balances now before they get too out of control- it's easy to let happen!

It certainly wouldn't hurt to try, I mean, if you can't pay, you can't pay, no matter what the balance. Maybe miss a payment or two to show them that you can't pay, and them explain to them that just can't afford to pay what you owe, but you are very interested in paying them off, what can they do to help? Rather than receiving nothing they may offer you a good deal. I think it's worth trying.
