Credit card companies are calling often. I just let it go to voice mail. Should I call them back? Or wait it out? Are settlements more likely if you return calls and explain situation?

Thanks

I have received calls but they never leave a message on my cell (just my credit card companies have my cell, not the pdls). Discover has a robot that calls several times a day at home, but if you call the numer they leave you can't talk to a live person. So it's held against me if THEY don't leave a message? I know who's calling by the number.

I'm sure that OP too wants to pay the credit card companies but may be he has other pressing issues right now for which he can't keep up with the bills.

Anyway, I would agree with Frogpatch, ignoring the calls aren't going to help you. May be you would take a chance in explaining them your situation and let them know that you would be glad to settle for a convenient amount.
