Credit card companies will keep a record of every call and use it against you in small claims court as attempts that went unanswered. You must face them and try to settle before it goes to collections.

I have received calls but they never leave a message on my cell (just my credit card companies have my cell, not the pdls). Discover has a robot that calls several times a day at home, but if you call the numer they leave you can't talk to a live person. So it's held against me if THEY don't leave a message? I know who's calling by the number.
