I have about 50k in CC debit. I have just gone through a divorce,Income is about 60k a year, I still have good credit and I'm trying to protect it. How likely is it that I will qualify for a loan. So far i have not had good luck. Do you have to go into default before anyone will help?

Can you call your creditors and arrange a payment plan with them? They might be willing to work with you since you are ready to pay what you can afford. In case, if they are not willing to help, speak to a counselor who can assist you in paying your debts with the creditors. There are different debt management companies who can negotiate with your creditors and arrange a lower repayment plan and reduce the interest rates. Register for a free counseling here and speak to a counselor in your area. Hope this helps!

Welcome!

I'd either call the number on the right of your screen or apply for a free consultation. Both are great!

For debt consolidation, you don't have to be in default, but I think in debt settlement you need to be in default-but a counselor from here can help you with your options.

Also talk to your creditors & explain you are divorced & need some help in making payment arrangements.

If you decide to go with debt consolidation or debt settlement ALWAYS check out a company with the BBB. Also good is Ripoff Report and this site here! Just type a company name into the search area & see if anyone has dealt with them before.

Best of luck in your journey!

I third that motion! :-) Having a free consultation could help alot. It will help you learn about your options. It sounds like you are looking for a loan to get out of a loan and that is never the best idea. I took that route and it ended up costing me my credit, rather than protecting it. Please, look at your options before you commit to anything. And, as LeeLee said, always check the BBB before choosing a debt consolidation or debt settlement company. :-)
