Thank you!

I'd like to know if you have any written document that can establish that you have paid these credit card companies potions of your debts. What is the current status of all these accounts?

Anyway, don't believe in hearsay, let the summon get served at your doorstep. Most often the collection agencies would try to scare you by saying all these to make you pay. If you at all get served, you'd then need to follow the steps required to reciprocate to the summon, which would also include sending a proper debt validation latter to the CA.

Thank you for the information. I am wondering since I know that they have filed a suit at the courthouse, should I try and contact them before I am served? I know one time a long time ago, the courthouse lost some of my tax information and I wasn't told of it before I had people peeking into my windows wanting to buy my house. It came down to the wire before they found my records and straightened everything out. I thought I was going to lose my house over what they called a glitch!

how do you know that they have filed? did you recieve a summons? and second of all no matter what happens the cc companies cannot take your house, they can put a lein on itso that you cannot sell it without paying your debtor first, but they connot take it from you or your vehicles unless you defaulted on a actual car loan were they are comming to reposses it.

check into the limitations in ca on debt. and know the facts about settlement and how to go about it if this is what you wish to do there are some great articles around here for you to learn up on. Read up and know about the statute of limitations and how it works in your state if they dont take you to court by then you dont need to worry about it too much.

but first take a deep breath and relax. they cant take your stuff.
