What should i do?

My husband and I have 25,000 in credit card debt. The minimum payments keep creeping up and I am getting laid off in a month. We don't know what to do...Has anyone been in this situation? What should I do? I have been talking to debt settlement companies but after doing research online...it kind of scares me a bit. Advice?

Each month it seems like our minimums get higher and my husband keeps making less money (he's in sales). So then we charge more to the CC's and it's a vicious cycle.
I just found this forum the other day and it is full of so much help and information. I am in about the same amount of debt as you and although the thought of just not paying my credit cards and watching the interest and late fees climb is terrifying, I think that is way for us to go.
Just wanted to offer my 2 cents! :)
