Charge offs
Most of the credit card companies charge off at the 180 day (6 month) mark. That doesn't mean they will not send it to a third party or in house collection agency before that. It depends on who holds your debt. This site is a great way to gauge what will happen with any one particular company. Type the name of your debt holder in the search box and it will bring up a bunch of threads you can read to get a good idea of how a particular creditor will proceed in your situation. Then if you have any questions, just post them with the community and you will always get some help and/or advice. Peace
