when i am talking with the "recovery department" (it is supposed to be there in the next day or two) is there anything that i can/should ask them to do when setting up (hopefully) settlement or payment plan? as in is there anything i can ask them to list on my credit report or anything like that?

thanks for all advice!

Nowadays, it's hard to get a 'pay for delete' agreement with the creditors. So, as an alternative, you can request them (recovery department) to report your account as 'Paid in Full' instead of 'Paid as Settled' or 'Settled'.

I was unable to even get a paid-in-full so I took the settled for less than full amount and am moving on. For those who don't know, there is a credit repair forum here...just click the tab at the top. It is not nearly as active as the settlement forum is-maybe because it is not promoted enough. But once the settlements are complete, that is the next step.
