i am almost 90 days late on 35k w/BOA..should i wait for boa to offer or offer them 25%? Chase offered 35% at 47 days on 25k ..they were great and understood our hardship after many yrs of being excellent customers. Please advise

I agree, I have seen many excellent settlements through BOA - some as low as 15%, although you have to push hard for that. You could probably get them to go for a 20-30% deal. However, there is a "window" with them, and if you wait too long, you lose the chance at a great deal. I would say between 120-150 dpd, you should start working on negotiations with them. And be sure that you have the money available!

Chase offers are sporatic from one customer to the next, and 35% is pretty darn good! I've gotten them to go as low as 30% in a lump sum with the promise of immediate payment upon receiving the terms of the agreement in writing.
