Is 40% a good settlement with Chase?

Thats pretty good. I would make sure they send you something in writing agreeing to these terms.

I am only 14 days past due and they are already talking settlement. I made a offer of 56% and they will let me know tomorrow

I would take it. Especially if they let you take 3 months to pay it. I could only get 50% on $3000 balance and 46% on $2700 balance.

I did get 3 payments on the 50% one as well.

Chase offere me 60% today, then said they would put my account into review for 50%. I just missed my 3rd payment. I'm holding out for 40%. That's all the cash I have. Of course, if it comes down to it, I'll settle for whatever I can get, and make payments. I have heard they play hardball.

B of A just settled with me for 25% (I owe $40K, they are taking $10K... $7K this month, and 3 payments of $1K).

how late are you guys that are getting these 25% settlements

You should be close to 150 days for BofA to get 20% with 3 payments.

take it, its a least the resonsbility you can offer.. i understand we would all love to get out of debt but at the same time. we all have a commitment to the payments and charges we made. if you can afford the 40-60% then take it and get started rebuilding your life
