Want to settle my Chase account, Redline Recovery
Date: Thu, 02/03/2011 - 15:41
My question is if I want to settle this account, should I simply just call them (I got their # from Chase Bank) and ask for the amount in writing? And once I get that letter, to just pay them with a check?
Kind of stupid questions, but I'm ready to move forward and was wondering if it's that simple if I want to get this out of my life... FOREVER!
Thanks community, you all have saved my life these past few months.

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!
You are lucky. You have received an excellent settlement offer. You should accept it as soon as possible. Yes, you should contact them and then ask them to draw up a written settlement agreement. Read through the written agreement in detail. If you have any doubts whatsoever, clarify them before signing the contract. After reading the agreement in detail, sign it. Make the payment on the scheduled date and ask them to send a copy of payment receipt stating "Paid in Full". You can also make the payment through check. Make sure you check your credit report to find out whether they have updated the account status on it.

I attempted to call Redline and Chase but have been told that my account has been sold off to Collins Financial. Did a little research about them and they may also be called Paragon Collection?
Looks like the firm may be located right here in my current city of residence in Texas (not sure if this is a good thing or not). To my relief, seems like they have an A on the BBB report. I'm not looking to dodge any of my debts as I do want to settle them for a reasonable amount. I have not received any letters or phonecalls from them as of this point (they only acquired my debt a week ago).
What should I be thinking or doing as of this point? Reach out to them or just wait for them to speak with me?
