I plan on DIY debt settlement. I had made a big purchase (approx 3K) and had to put it on the citibank card that I plan on settling. I made the purchase before I got injured at work. I am on workman's comp and will be on it for awhile, therefore, unable to make my CC payments. How long should I wait before I stop the payments to Citibank in an attempt to get a settlement after a huge purchase?

i agree you must be late for sometime before they will even consider a negotiation. but i would when that time comes up, to consider discussing with them over and over yorur situation and what happend becuase alot of times the cc company would consider this to be fraud, were you just recently purchased something very expesive and now are not paying. This means they are out the money you purchased and thier interest. usually they are more willing to negotiate if say you made that purchase 2 years ago and they have made some money back on it. Can you see how that would look on thier part? i never thought of that but i read it here somewere, were someone charged a pile of money on thier cards cause they new they were going through a settlement process. good luck!
