CitiCard - Need some *QUICK* guidance
Date: Tue, 01/04/2011 - 16:03
I have an offer from citicards to allow me to pay back 30% of the original balance. We owe $42,300.00 They have me the option of paying back over 30 months, but I can't swing the monthly payments. Settlement was offered, but now must be approved by manager. This has been ongoing since Dcember 09.
The rep told me he would not mark my account 'paid in full' at conclusion of payments, only 'settled for less.' What should I do? What necessary things do I need to do before we go on?? Am I forgetting anything?? Should I ask for anything related to my credit report??
I'm so lost. This is my only credit card...and then I'm DONE. I'm ready to be debt free.
TIA!!

You arent going to get much better and you really are not in a position to be making demands. I am really surprised they havent sued you yet.

I settled with Citibank and paid them over 4 months. You won't get a better offer, so do the settlement. When you settle, they don't list paid in full on your credit report. But it's worth getting debt free.
