Civil Action File for Debt
Date: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 11:24
I am new here but need some help in what my rights are with a file against my debt.
I just received a summons today from an Attorney representing Midland funding LLC an Assignee of Chase Bank USA.
I am assuming that Midland bought the debt from Chase.
I did speak with the attorney over a month ago and said I could do a payment plan of a small amount. They said it was not something that the plaintiff would negotiate.
I do not have the $4,053.77 that I owe nor the court costs of $257.00
They are stating that the suit is being filed for refusal to pay.
What steps should I take at this point? What are my rights in this?
Any help would be appreciated.
