I have had 5 credit cards closed within the last six months and defaulted on a student loan....how do I approach the company about paying off debts....how will affect my score

Hi,
Closing credit cards all at once may affect your credit utilization ratio as your credit limit gets reduced. It's better if you can get your scores so that you can take necessary steps, if required.
Regarding your student loan, you can talk to the creditor (if it's a private loan) and work out an alternative payment plan which suits you both.

Please clarify...the credit card companies closed your accounts due to default you closed them? If so, you scores would have tanked due to missed payments/charge offs.

With either a private or federal loan, you should have been receiving communications as to who is holding the loan and who you need to be paying. Do you know what type of loan it is???
